Non-oil foreign merchandise trade through Abu Dhabi ports increased by 5.3%
Tthe value of non-oil foreign merchandise trade, which entered or exited the territory of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through the ports of Abu Dhabi (comprising air, sea and road ports) in the year to date (Jan.-Sep.) and September 2017-2018. It should be noted that foreign trade data presented in this publication do not cover non-oil exports and imports through ports of the other Emirates in the UAE.
 
 The data have been sourced from the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance     Customs Administration, and the scope of the statistics therefore is restricted to the trade flows recorded at ports under the jurisdiction of the Customs Administration. The publication highlights the relative importance of each individual component of imports, non-oil exports and re-exports.
 
 The data are presented according to the Broad Economic Categories (BEC), the Harmonized System (HS) chapters and by country for total imports, non-oil exports and re-exports
 
 The value of non-oil foreign merchandise trade through Abu Dhabi ports increased by 5.3% from AED 116.1 billion in the year to date (Jan.-Sep.) 2017 to AED 122.2 billion in the same period of 2018. This was the result of a 17.8% increase in re-exports from AED 15.6 billion to AED 18.4 billion, 15.3% increase in non-oil exports, and 1.1% increase in imports. Total trade increased by 16.8% in September 2018 compared with September 2017 due to an increase in non-oil exports, re-exports and imports by 61.2%, 26.8% and 5.9% respectively in the same period.
